Director of Alumni Programs
The Director of Alumni Programs is an external relations professional who works to create and maintain the organizational structure of the Alumni Association, while engaging alumni in annual and capital giving and special events.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing all aspects of the Alumni Association Executive Board, including the election of officers, appointment of board members, meeting agendas, strategic direction, etc.; act as Executive Director of Alumni Association
- Managing volunteers for all alumni and reunion programs
- Organizing special events to engage alumni in the community, such as Reunion Weekend, Fr. Duffy Christmas Party, Alumni Golf Classic, awards banquets, career and college mentoring, etc.
- Encouraging faculty attendance and participation in alumni events
- Developing a yearly Alumni Association strategic plan and overall marketing strategy
- Cultivating current Malvern students for active participation as alumni after graduation and educating them on the importance of the Alumni Association
- Creating and administering a weekly email newsletter to all alumni
- Devising and maintaining the alumni section of the Malvern Prep web site, including the online alumni directory
- Working with the Director of Communications to supply content for bi-annual alumni magazine
- Collaborating with the Director of Malvern Fund to ensure an increased level of alumni participation is being reached annually
- Serving as a liaison between the alumni and the school when necessary
- Serves on or attends appropriate Board of Trustee Committee meetings and assists Alumni President in communicating to the Board all aspects of the Alumni status.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Three-five years experience in institutional advancement and/or alumni relations preferred. Demonstrated ability to attract, train and retain top volunteers in creating and operating organizational structures. A friendly personality and an understanding of customer service and donor relations required.

Director of Gift Planning
Development Office
Malvern Preparatory School is seeking a Director of Gift Planning.
Major Responsibilities and Functions:
- Visit with planned gift prospects and donors for solicitation and stewardship purposes.
- Manage caseload of 100 to 150 prospects and donors. Most prospects will be planned giving prospects, but some of the prospects will be major gift prospects.
- Serve as a resource to the Alumni Programs and Malvern Fund Directors, providing guidance and advice as it relates to planned giving.
- He/she will accompany other Development Office staff members on donor calls, assist with special events and help find lost alumni when necessary.
- Work with Director of Communications and planned giving consultant to create and manage the marketing efforts for the planned gift effort, including helping to design the marketing program and helping to implement the agreed upon marketing strategies.
- Negotiate and close a wide range of planned giving arrangements including gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, lead trusts, pooled income fund gifts, life insurance gifts, IRA gifts, bequests, retained life estates and donor advised funds.
- Work closely with a variety of professional advisors, attorneys, trust officers, financial planners, accountants, and others when working with donors and prospects.
- Maintain records of gift activity and prospect contacts.
- Work with the Caritas Society, the School’s recognition group for planned gift donors, including the implementation of an annual mass and brunch along with a possible newsletter.
- Recruit and train planned giving volunteers and manage planned giving committee.
Job Qualifications:
- Willing to be out of the office 50-75% of the time
- Strong belief in the mission of Malvern Preparatory School
- Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS degree); Master’s preferred
- Preferred minimum of 4 to 6 years of fundraising experience (planned gift or major gift fund raising preferred); appropriate sales experience may be acceptable
- Demonstrated track record of major and/or planned gift success in closing gifts
- Ability to focus on detail along with the ability to prioritize diverse tasks in a fast paced environment
- Superior people skills, outstanding oral and written communication skills, and the ability to interact well with high net-worth individuals
- Strong computer literacy with Word and Excel, as well as the ability to navigate the Internet
- Ability to work independently, as well as on a team in a collaborative working style
