Academic Standing: Students wishing to hold office must meet the academic requirements necessary for promotion into the next grade. At present, a 3.0 GPA is the average needed for both the upper school and the middle school. No failures in any subject will have appeared on the present year’s report card. The Dean of Upper School or Middle School approves each respective candidate. His recommendation is the final consideration.
Disciplinary Standing: Student Council members are role models for the students in our school. Therefore, any student with seven or more demerits in the present school year is not qualified for election to office in the next school year. That student may consider running in the following year if he has met the criteria during the present school term. The Dean of Students approves each candidate, and his recommendation is the final consideration.
Conduct Code: Student Council membership bears the unwritten responsibility of conducting oneself as a Malvern student in speech, dress, attitude and manner. This conduct reflects respect for all people in the Malvern School community and extends to its regulations and discipline. This conduct moves beyond the School’s physical limits as a Council member is a Malvernian at all times and in all places.
