Malvern Preparatory School expects each member of the school family to demonstrate core values as a member of the Christian community.

Malvern Preparatory School is a private, independent, and college preparatory boys’ school founded by the Augustinians, a Roman Catholic religious order.  Under the guidance of a self-perpetuating Board of Trustees, Augustinian and lay educators cooperatively conduct the teaching and administrative functions of the School.  Endeavoring to serve society in general, Malvern seeks to create an academic community in which, through free and close interpersonal relationships, the intellectual, religious, moral, cultural and physical capacities of its students will be brought to an advanced stage of development.

Malvern has a continuing and strong commitment to academic excellence.  Both by conviction and historical association, it fosters the living tradition of Christian humanism or what might be described as the active presence of Christ changing the world; equally it seeks to respond to the vast expansion of knowledge of recent decades and to the societal demands of the contemporary world.

Specifically, Malvern’s goals include preparing its students for further study in institutions of higher education, equipping them to understand the society in which they live and enabling them to recognize their own identity in a complex and changing world.

• To sustain an environment and orientation wherein love and respect for God, the Church and our country are instilled in each student; to develop the character of the student by the inculcation of Christian ideals, the attainment of moral integrity and personal responsibility, and the acquisition of social graces.
• To provide an academic program — scientific, literary, cultural and religious — that emphasizes the harmonious formation of the whole person.
• To offer, again in cultivating the whole man, a program of athletics for the proper development of the student’s character and physical abilities.
• To encourage a close and personal relationship between the teacher and the student, both as a group and as individuals.
• To supply the student with progressively detailed information and guidance concerning the various professions and for the selection of institutions for continued academic formation.
