“Blue Period!”

Malvern’s “Blue Period”

As we “Embrace the Arts” this year what better way to celebrate the opening of The Duffy Arts Center, then with a party founded by an art movement.

Pronounced bO-zär'; or bO-zar' in French, the term beaux arts means fine arts. Based on ideas taught at the legendary École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, the ‘Beaux Arts’ style of architecture flourished between 1885 and 1920.

After the creation of the Beaux Art tradition festivals celebrating artistic accomplishments were held, culminating in a grand masquerade ball. Their theme asked for creativity and imagination beyond the scope of tamed human minds.

So the B.A.S.H. Committee is taking up the tradition and adding our own ‘artistic license’ and presenting Beaux Arts B.A.S.H. - Malvern’s Blue Period. Artists such as Picasso and Monet both produced works that were suffused in blue at some point in their career, and Malvern Prep is True Blue!

B.A.S.H. decorations will focus on the Arts and all of the shades of Blue that make up Malvern Prep. Blue Rooms, Blue Lighting, Students that Sell Raffles dressed up as “Blue Man Group”, Blue Martini’s and maybe even Blue Jeans!
