Turnitin’s recent upgrades offer significant improvements to two of their core products, Plagiarism Prevention and GradeMark™. They have also expanded and streamlined our existing integrations with Blackboard® and WebCT®.

BETTER ORIGINALITY REPORTS
Their new reports offer several major performance and interface upgrades, many of which are exclusive to Turnitin. They include:

• New search technology that is up to 21% more effective at detecting plagiarism
• The ability to search Word®, Excel®, PowerPoint® and RTF documents from the internet
• A feature that lets you exclude quoted material from a search and automatically excludes bibliographies
• A new mode that shows all matching sources in their entirety, even if they have been partially or completely obscured by other overlapping matches

• A better, more readable print report
• Automatic exclusion of material written by the same author, which eliminates erroneous matches
• The option to re-analyze a report at a later date to include more recent web content
• Turnitin also redesigned the originality report and added additional small features that make it faster and more intuitive, based largely on reader feedback.
