Malvern honored seven outstanding students yesterday at the Junior Class Awards Ceremony in the school’s Our Mother of Good Counsel Chapel.

Nicholas McGill received the Sims Family Scholarship Award. The Sims family awards this scholarship to a junior who is persistent, dedicated, involved and loyal to Malvern Prep.
Christopher Ferraiolo received the Michael P. Walsh ’59 Scholarship and Achievement Award. Given in memory of Michael P. Walsh ’59 and Brian G. Walsh ’63, this scholarship and achievement award is given to a junior chosen by the Walsh family. The recipient is especially diligent academically and is committed to family and activities.
Andrew Giannascoli received the Norman and Dorothy McMahon Award. The Malvern administration gives this award annually to a junior who has shown love and commitment to family and Malvern Prep.
Kyle Jones received the Eleanor “Bunky” Mullray Scholarship. This scholarship is given in loving memory of “Bunky” Mullray P’84’87’94, wife of T. Daniel Mullray ’62 and past president of the Malvern Prep Mothers’ Club.
Matthew McCullough received the Robert J. Kirby ’63 Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is given in memory of Robert J. Kirby ’63 P’93’93 to a junior who is a student-athlete, a member of the National Honor Society, involved in school clubs and activities and participates in sports for Malvern. The recipient is chosen by the Head of School and the guidance department.
Daniel McKiernan received the Thomas F. Swift ’78 Award. The Swift family gives this memorial award annually to a junior who is diligent and has been involved during his Upper School career.
Christopher Furlong received the Basil B. Sullivan ’51 Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a junior who has demonstrated academic merit, participates in activities and/or athletics and demonstrates a loyalty to Malvern. The scholarship is given by the Sullivan family and friends in memory of Basil B. Sullivan ’51, history teacher and friend to many Malvern alumni.
