Successful college placement is one of the most important goals of a Malvern education. Working for acceptance to the college of their choice challenges students to develop their fullest potential and to prepare for leadership roles in society. While the students themselves bear the primary responsibility for college admission, family members, counseling professionals, faculty, administrators, coaches, peers, and alumni assume important roles in the process.
Malvern provides extensive support and resources through the following: Major and career exploration; College placement, testing, and referral services; personal and group counseling. The college counseling process begins in the freshman year. Seven college counseling staff members assist students and parents. They hold special group-counseling sessions with all juniors to discuss the details of the college selection and application process. The junior and senior year counselors meet frequently with each student throughout the school year.
