Colleen has spent her adult life dedicated to her two passions--education and the outdoors. She is a native of southeastern Pennsylvania and graduated from West Chester University with a degree in Special Education. After spending a year with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps running after school programs in Bridgeport, Connecticut, she moved to Arizona where she guided and taught struggling youth in the desert wilderness.
Upon her return to Pennsylvania, Colleen began teaching in the classroom and has experience working in urban, public, private, charter, and commercial schools in content areas ranging from reading instruction to environmental and outdoor education. Villanova awarded Colleen a Master of Science degree in Counseling in 2010. She has a special interest in outdoor adventuring, occasionally writes for outdoor magazines, and thru hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2008.
When she's not out exploring, Colleen can be found knitting or reading at home with her dear husband in Kimberton.
