This winter, Malvern will again offer the opportunity for students to take practice tests and review some strategies for the SAT to be given in March.

These sessions will take place on three Saturdays, February 11, 25, and March 3, from 8:30-10:00 AM and 10:10-11:40 AM.  Students can take Verbal, Math, or both sessions.  The REAL thing SAT is given on Saturday, March 12.  Students MUST REGISTER SEPARATELY FOR THIS SAT!!

Price for the total of three sessions is $37.50 for Verbal, $37.50 for Math, and $75 for both (checks payable to “Malvern Prep”). In the event that a student must miss a session, we will provide a copy of that test for the student to take on his/her own.  We do not “pro-rate” the registration fee, but we would be happy to review any questions after the student has scored the test.

Math sessions will include the taking sections of a complete SAT Reasoning Test each Saturday and a review of selected questions by type.  Verbal sessions will alternate Saturdays for the taking of both Critical Reading and Writing (including Essay) sections. 

If you are interested in these sessions, please either pre-register on-line or submit the registration form along with your check for $37.50 or $75 to Mr. Valyo or Mr. Roper before Saturday, February 11, 2012 or report to Tolentine Hall on Saturday, February 11, at 8:15 AM for registration and course assignment.  You need not take both Verbal and Math; accommodations will be made to take one, the other, or both.

Students and parents should be aware that these sessions are not to be viewed as informal gatherings.  Promptness is expected, cooperation and attention in class is mandated.  A majority of the time will be spent in taking sample SATs UNDER TEST CONDITIONS.  Studies have shown that there is no replacement for practice.  Dress is casual, but NEAT.  Students MUST bring a calculator.
