Anthony DeCecco Returns with David DiLucia '88 to Coach Friar Tennis  |

Malvern Prep Athletic Director Kurt Ruch has announced the hiring of Anthony DeCecco as Head Tennis Coach with Malvern alumnus and former touring USTA professional, David DiLucia ’88 as assistant. DiLucia who graduated from Malvern in 1988 is a former touring USTA professional who had a stellar career as a student at Malvern Prep and continued his success at the University of Notre Dame. |

The Inter-Ac Conference announced All-Inter-Ac Swimming & Diving Team for the 2012-13 Season. The 16 Member Roster includes Six Student Athletes from Malvern Prep
Freshman - Billy Beard
Sophomore - Brandon Fronzcak
Juniors - Chris Cary & Chris J. (CJ) Schaffer
Seniors - Michael Paul (MP) Salinas* & Paul Stockett
MP Salinas and Paul Stockett are also two of the six Malvern Prep swimmers and divers named as Academic All-Americans. The others are Stephen Ball, Matthew Cornell, Charles Leasure, and Ryan Robinson.

Making Waves: The Malvern Prep Swimming and Diving Team’s Incredible Season  |

|
 The culmination of the Malvern Swimming and Diving Team’s 2013 season came in its victory over Germantown Academy to win the InterAc championship on February 6 for the first time since 2008. In addition, six members of the senior class have achieved “Academic All-American’ status for maintaining seven semesters of a 3.75 GPA along with their contributions to varsity swimming.
These students are: Stephen Ball, Matthew Cornell, Charles Leasure, Ryan Robinson, MP Salinas and Paul Stockett. |

Friday February 1st sealed the deal for Malvern Prep’s Men’s Swimming and Diving Team, as they beat Conestoga in the last dual meet of their now undefeated season. While most student attention has been drawn to the common winter sports like hockey and basketball, the swim team has quietly become the most dominant team on campus in the start of the new year. 5th Annual Empty Bowls Benefits Area’s Homeless  |

5th Empty Bowls a success with close to 1,000 Bowls!! On Monday, January 21, students, parents, teachers, family and friends gathered on the campus of Malvern Prep to raise money to benefit the area’s homeless population. The annual event is called Empty Bowls, and it combines Malvern’s love of clay with the school’s dedication to community service.
Empty Bowls was chaired this year by Malvern Prep seniors Matthew Cornell of West Chester, Matthew Miller of Collegeville, and Colin Pawlowski of Drexel Hill.

Malvern Prep ended 2012 with great celebrations and a special guest star! Students and faculty came together for pre-Christmas mass, talent shows, “Reindeer Games” and more. The first Middle School Talent Show took place in the morning with an amazing opening act - Middle School faculty and staff dancing to Saturday Night Fever. On November 12, 2012, students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, trustees, and friends gathered for a very special ceremony and reception in the Donald F. O’Neill Sports Center as Rev. James R. Flynn, O.S.A., was officially inaugurated as Malvern Preparatory School’s third President. Fr. Flynn assumed his new role on July 1, 2012, following in the footsteps of previous Presidents Rev. David J. Duffy, O.S.A.’48 (1990-2006) and Mr. James H. Stewart (2006-2012). |

A Distinguished Honor Roll student in seventh grade and already an accomplished guitarist, Alex has appeared in several theatrical productions, including children’s classics like A Christmas Carol (Young Scrooge), The Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow), and Malvern Theatre Society’s Aladdin Jr. (Thief). He is currently performing in Meredith Willson’s The Music Man through January 6, 2013 at the illustrious Walnut Street Theatre. Read More

With the presentation of the medal of St. Augustine and a personal blessing by the Augustinians, the 120 members of Malvern Prep’s class of 2016 were formally welcomed into the Malvern community at a special Brotherhood Ceremony today in the school’s O’Neill Sports Center. |

In a season of new beginnings, Malvern Prep placed fourth in the Henderson High School Labor Day Soccer Classic. These were the first games of the year for Malvern. With a lot of new young players, Malvern played a very good possession game, but failed to convert some excellent crosses, and breakaways on goal. |
