Author Visit Highlights National Library Week    
Malvern kicked of its celebration of National Library Week on April 15 with a visit by young adult author Tim Green, who spent the day speaking with each Middle School grade about his books, how he became a writer, and his professional football career. Check out the video of Green in the Duffy Center reading from his latest book, Force Out.
Homecoming for New Director of Development    
Malvern Preparatory School is pleased to announce the hiring of Victor F. D'Ascenzo, Malvern Prep Class of 1981, as the School's new Director of Development. D'Ascenzo is currently the Executive Director of Community Counselling Services a development consulting firm in New York City. D'Ascenzo rejoins the Malvern community with a wealth of fundraising experience, having spent the majority of his career at Fairfield University, including serving for 10 years as a Major Gift Officer with the school.
Men's Chorus - Notre Dame Chorale Sing at Phillies Game    
The Malvern Prep Men's Chorus teamed up with the Notre Dame Women's Chorale to perform a magnificent rendition of the National Anthem before the Philadelphia Phillies game at Citizens Bank Park on April 20.
Malvern Hosts Student Augustinian Values Institute    
Malvern Preparatory School is hosting 90 high school students and their chaperones from the nine Augustinian Schools in the United States and Canada for the Fourth Annual Student Augustinian Values Institute (SAVI) April 11-14. Throughout the weekend, students will discuss and strengthen their own understanding of the core values identified by St. Augustine through a series of focused talks, student group discussions, active service, social outings and other team building exercises.
Malvern Students Lead Debate at World Affairs Council Global Economic Forum    
Two Malvern Preparatory School students earned awards at the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia’s recent Global Economic Forum, a collaborative debate that brought together more than 200 Philadelphia-area high school students to explore issues facing the global economy.
Malvern, Villa Maria Students Team up to Help the Homeless

This past Sunday, 30 freshman students from Malvern Preparatory School and Villa Maria Academy worked together to prepare 130 toiletry bags for the homeless served by the St. Agnes Day Room in West Chester as part of a comprehensive coeducational orientation program for 9th graders at Malvern and Villa.

Malvern Observes Holy Week with Powerful Living Stations    
Malvern Prep staged two emotional, reflective performances of the Living Stations of the Cross this week, helping the community prepare for a solemn Holy Week and joyous Easter Sunday. Backed by a well-chosen score by the Liturgical Music Group, actors from Malvern and Villa Maria brought the Passion of Christ to life for packed houses in the Duffy Arts Center this past Sunday and Wednesday.
Malvern Prep Student Charlie Leasure Named Presidential Scholars Candidate    
Charlie Leasure of Devon, a graduating senior at Malvern Preparatory School, has been named one of more than 3,000 candidates in the 2013 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The candidates were selected from nearly 3.4 million students expected to graduate from U.S. high schools in the year 2013.

Anthony DeCecco Returns with David DiLucia '88 to Coach Friar Tennis    
Malvern Prep Athletic Director Kurt Ruch has announced the hiring of Anthony DeCecco as Head Tennis Coach with Malvern alumnus and former touring USTA professional, David DiLucia ’88 as assistant.
DiLucia who graduated from Malvern in 1988 is a former touring USTA professional who had a stellar career as a student at Malvern Prep and continued his success at the University of Notre Dame.

The Inter-Ac Conference announced All-Inter-Ac Swimming & Diving Team for the 2012-13 Season.   The 16 Member Roster includes Six Student Athletes from Malvern Prep

Malvern Swimming & Diving Celebrate Inter-Ac Championship and 6 Academic All-Americans    
Malvern Prep's Swimming and Diving has achieved great things: six Academic All-Americans, an undefeated season, an Inter-Ac championship and six members of the team being named to the All-Inter-Ac Conference team.

Making Waves: The Malvern Prep Swimming and Diving Team’s Incredible Season    
The culmination of the Malvern Swimming and Diving Team’s 2013 season came in its victory over Germantown Academy to win the InterAc championship on February 6 for the first time since 2008.  In addition, six members of the senior class have achieved “Academic All-American’ status for maintaining seven semesters of a 3.75 GPA along with their contributions to varsity swimming. 
 
These students are: Stephen Ball, Matthew Cornell, Charles Leasure, Ryan Robinson, MP Salinas and Paul Stockett.
Twenty Five Malvern Prep Students Inducted into National Arts and Music Honors Societies    
On Monday, February 11, Malvern Prep proudly welcomed 25 new members into the School’s chapters of the National Art Honor Society and the Tri-M Music Honor Society.

Friday February 1st sealed the deal for Malvern Prep’s Men’s Swimming and Diving Team, as they beat Conestoga in the last dual meet of their now undefeated season. While most student attention has been drawn to the common winter sports  like hockey and basketball, the swim team has quietly become the most dominant team on campus in the start of the new year. On Wednesday, January 30th, the great folk musician Michael Miles came to Malvern to teach the entire Upper School the history of music and how it has progressed, and how almost every kind of music is linked somehow. Michael brought his Banjo and Guitar to explain the story of America’s musical past, and how it connects to modern music. Read More
5th Annual Empty Bowls Benefits Area’s Homeless    
5th Empty Bowls a success with close to 1,000 Bowls!! On Monday, January 21, students, parents, teachers, family and friends gathered on the campus of Malvern Prep to raise money to benefit the area’s homeless population.  The annual event is called Empty Bowls, and it combines Malvern’s love of clay with the school’s dedication to community service. 
 
Empty Bowls was chaired this year by Malvern Prep seniors Matthew Cornell of West Chester, Matthew Miller of Collegeville, and Colin Pawlowski of Drexel Hill.

Malvern Celebrates In Preparation for Christmas    

Malvern Prep ended 2012 with great celebrations and a special guest star!  Students and faculty came together for pre-Christmas mass, talent shows, “Reindeer Games” and more. The first Middle School Talent Show took place in the morning with an amazing opening act - Middle School faculty and staff dancing to Saturday Night Fever. It was followed by tremendous performances from the sixth, seventh and eighth graders.
