Forty-six students at Malvern Preparatory School have earned the designation of AP Scholar by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement (AP) Program Exams.
The students took AP Exams in May 2010 after completing challenging college-level courses. The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on students’ performance on AP Exams.
One Malvern student, Sean Lyons ’10, qualified for the National AP Scholar Award by earning an average grade of 4 or higher on a 5-point scale on all AP exams taken, and grades of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.
Nineteen Malvern students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five of more of these exams. In addition to Lyons, who earned the National Scholar Award, these students are: Timothy Altmansberger ’10, Wade Andersson ’10, Andrew Cloetingh ’10, Nigel Corea ’10, Joseph DiTrolio ’10, Andrew Ferguson ’10, Gregory Hilditch ’10, Matthew Kardish ’10, Benjamin Lodi ’10, Devin Marlin ’10, Leonard Olson ’10, Andrew Paisley ’10, Ryan Polischuk ’11, Kevin Quinn ’10, Christopher Reeves ’10, Aaron Snyder ’10, Dylan Spangenberg ’10 and Michael Trevelise ’10.
Ten Malvern students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. The students are: Ryan Aceto ’10, Sean Challis ’10, David Dones ’10, Paul Graham ’10, Brian Le ’11, Jeffrey Schulte ’10, Daniel Shanley ’10, Matt Tomarchio ’10, Sean Wheeler ’10 and Tyler Young ’10.
Seventeen Malvern students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP Exams with grades of 3 or higher. These students are: Patrick Allen ’11, Thomas Ball ’11, Brendan Bell ’11, Thomas Boudwin ’10, James Brandolini ’10, Alexander Cardile ’10, Brandon Chick ’10, Gregory Heisler ’11, Mark Jackson ’10, James Kacergis ’10, Thomas Lawler ’11, Kevin Malcolm ’10, William Marple ’10, Ryan Murphy ’11, Eric Satterthwaite ’10, Dylan Seagraves ’10 and Luke Stanish ’10.
