Mr. Christian M. Talbot    
Head of School
Christian M. Talbot joined the Malvern Prep community as the 13th Head of School on July 1, 2012.  Mr. Talbot arrives at Malvern following a fourteen-year career at Regis High School, a Catholic college preparatory school for boys in New York City, from which he graduated in 1993.  His appointment as Head of School culminated an extensive national search and a unanimous recommendation from the Head of School Search Committee.
 
As Head of School, Mr. Talbot assumes responsibility for the day-to-day operations of Malvern Prep, managing the academic and co-curricular programs of the Upper and Middle schools while also overseeing the Business, Admissions, Marketing and Development offices.  In essence, Mr. Talbot acts as the chief executive officer for Malvern Prep.
 
Mr. Talbot brings a record of accomplishment in scholarship and excellent management skills. At Regis High School, Mr. Talbot taught English and chaired the English department for seven years. He held the position of President of the Faculty Council and took an active role in a two-year Presidential Practicum, shadowing Regis President Rev. Philip G. Judge, S.J. through major phases of strategic planning, fundraising and budgeting.  He served as a member on the school’s committees on Academics, Strategic Issues, Education and Mission, Development, and Religious Identity.  Beyond Regis, Mr. Talbot extended his educational work as a member of the Secondary Education Advisory Board of the New York Jesuit Province.
 
A passionate writer, Mr. Talbot authors Teaching Excellence discussing and debating educational leadership. The Folger Shakespeare Library has published two of his lesson plans on teaching the works of William Shakespeare, and the journal, Modern Psychoanalysis, has published his work. Mr. Talbot distinguished himself at Georgetown University, where he earned B.A. degrees in English and Art History. He earned an M.A. in Psychoanalysis from the New York Graduate School of Psychoanalysis. Mr. Talbot and his wife, Lisa, are the parents of two children, Maxwell and Julia.
