Middle School Jazz Band

This is not a beginning band class. Students must have demonstrated 1-2 years of formal instruction/lessons on their instrument before entry into this program. **Continued private lessons are required for membership in this program. Instruments for the MS Jazz Ensemble: Trumpets, Trombones, Saxophones, 2 pianists, 2 guitarists, 1 Bass Guitar, 2 Drummers. All instrumentalists must read and interpret real music notation. If there are too many instrumentalists in a section, students will audition for membership.

Jazz Improvisation

A class for student instrumentalists to refine soloing skills in rock and jazz genres, including a study of jazz history.
Practical Theory & Songwriting

An introduction to ear training, musical forms, solo projects, and collaborative music.
Music Recording & Technology

This course explores both basic practices and state-of-the-art technologies in the recording industry.
Pop Culture

A course for students to freely study American pop culture.
