Then Jump Start is for you. Malvern will conduct the academic half-day program on August 16, 17 and 18 to ease students into the coming academic routine. Socialize, orient yourself to Malvern, and "Jump Start" the brain for a successful school year. Areas of study include Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Writing, Beginning Language, Reading, Study Skills and Art. Who would benefit from this 6th through 10th grade co-ed program? Any student who seeks an advantage in beginning the school year with powerful study and performance skills will. Because there are no tests, no homework, and no dress code, the atmosphere is relaxed. Time moves quickly and students surprise themselves and enjoy the experience. The Christian Service groups for 10th Grade and 11th Grade are set for this upcoming year. Please read the attached information concerning your son and the service for 10thand 11th grades. Also, please check the group list ( 10th grade list and 11th grade list) for his grade. It is very important that you make sure he is available to go away to either St. Augustine’s (10th grade) or Urban Challenge (11th grade). Space is limited at each location so please let me know now if he needs to change his group. No changes will be made after August 31st. Fall SAT/PSAT Practice Tests Point Person: Steven Valyo, Upper School Dean - 484-595-1155 This fall, Malvern will again offer the opportunity for students to take practice tests and review some strategies for the PSAT/SAT to be given in the coming months. These sessions will take place on three consecutive Saturdays, September 10, 17, and 24, from 8:30-10:00 a.m. and 10:10-11:40 a.m. Students can take Verbal, Math, or both sessions. The REAL SAT is given on Saturday, October 1, and the REAL PSAT (for Juniors and Sophomores) on Wednesday, October 12. SENIORS MUST REGISTER SEPARATELY FOR THIS OCTOBER SAT! SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS WILL ALREADY BE REGISTERED TO TAKE THE PSAT AT MALVERN ON OCTOBER 12. Price for the total of four sessions is $37.50 for Verbal, $37.50 for Math, and $75 for both (Checks payable to “Malvern Prep”). Robotics Team to compete at Battle O' Baltimore Aug. 13 Malvern Prep's Robotics Team will be competing in the fifth annual Battle O' Baltimore robotics competition on Saturday, August 13, at Woodlawn High School in Baltimore, MD. These websites are updated on a daily basis when cancellations and postponements occur. In preparation for our fourth year with our Global Student Exchange Program, we are encouraging interested students and parents to participate by going abroad or acting as a host family. Again we will partner with schools in Spain, Panama and Australia. The stay is for four weeks. Students can apply if they are between 15 and 18 years old at the time of the exchange. If you are interested in being considered for the program, please contact Mrs. Rosle as soon as possible. He plays club lacrosse for the Dukes’ L.C. and also plays varsity football and basketball at Malvern Prep.
