Malvern knows Colleen Contrisciane-Lewis from her day job as a teacher and school counselor. In the January 2012 issue of Backpacker, a national magazine for hikers and wilderness adventurers, Mrs. Lewis serves as a field scout, hiking and reporting on her dream trip: 85-mile, weeklong transect of Glacier National Park on the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail. Mrs. Lewis is sharing her outdoor knowledge and know-how with the Malvern community via the Outdoor Club she started this year.  On December 9, the Outdoor Club had their first indoor climbing trip to the Philadelphia Rock Gym with eight students.  They are planning a backpacking trip for the spring as well as other outings, and are selling homemade survival bracelets as a fundraiser.
