The Philadelphia Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame has chosen Malvern Prep senior John Bradford of West Chester as a recipient of a Scholar-Athlete Award. John and several other high school and college athletes were honored at a banquet hosted by the Foundation in the Connelly Center at Villanova University on Wednesday, May 9, 2012.
First bestowed in 1991, the award is based on academic achievement, athletic accomplishments, community service and leadership. Another important aspect of the evening is to heighten the awareness of young athletes about participation in Villanova Football Head Coach Andy Talley’s Bone Marrow Foundation. John, who was selected as first team All Inter-Ac and All-Main Line, as well as second team All-City and All-Area in football, will attend Brown University in the fall and play football for the Brown Bears.
