Board of Trustees Welcomes New Chairman and Five New Members
Malvern Preparatory School welcomed a new Chairman and five new members to its Board of Trustees at its year-end meeting at Overbrook Golf Club on Tuesday, June 12.
 
Frank S. Hallinan, Esq. P’14 was installed as Chairman of the Board, accepting the gavel from outgoing Chairman Richard E. Devine Jr. ’76 P’03, who steps down after nine years on the Board.   Stephen K. Cloetingh P’10’13 was installed as Vice Chairman, with Kimberly N. McGeehin P’02’05’08 named Secretary and Michael J. Purcell P’04 named Treasurer.
 
Devine described the process of running the Board as a “pleasurable and enriching experience,” and said he was confident Malvern Prep would continue to grow and thrive under new Board leadership and incoming Head of School Christian Talbot.  “Malvern is financially, academically and spiritually strong, and with a strategic plan in place and new marketing and admissions strategies being developed, Malvern will continue to move upward.”
 
Devine thanked outgoing Vice Chairman Paul J. Kennedy, Esq. ’74 P’08’10, who also steps down from the Board after 13 years of service.  “Never did anyone work so hard for Malvern Prep,” Devine said of Kennedy.  Tim Valente ’84 P’13 called Kennedy “an ambassador for Malvern and a faithful Friar, who left an indelible fingerprint on the Board and the School.”

Stephen G. Meyer P’17, Executive Vice President and Head of SEI’s Investment Manager Services division in Oaks.
John F. McGlinn II P’14 ‘16, Managing Director of Archbrook Capital Management in Conshohocken.
J. Michael Riordan ’73, partner in the law firm McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP in Morristown, NJ.
David Frank ’91, who joined the Board as the new Alumni Association President, replacing Past Alumni President Robert A. Tribuiani '86, who was thanked for reinvigorating Malvern’s alumni program.
 
Also leaving the board this year were Toby J. Booker ’96 and Catherine E. O’Hara P’11’13, both of whom were thanked for their years of leadership, dedication and outstanding service to the School.
