As the calendar flips to August, our brains must shift from lazy days on the beach to the realization that the school year is just four weeks away. Sometimes, it can be difficult to get back into the academic routine. That's why Malvern Prep created the Jump Start program.
Jump Start is a short back-to-school program focusing on mathematics, English, science and study skills. For students, the atmosphere is casual as is the dress, classes move quickly from room to room, technology rules, and the opportunity to connect with fellow students is priceless. Students may choose the Academic Program or the Seminar Program, with seminars in Chemisyry for rising 10th graders or Spanish for grades 6-9.
The co-ed program for grades 6-10 is held for three consecutive half-days to ease students into the next school year with an emphasis on academics, study skills and the arts. This program is for the student who seeks an advantage in beginning the school year with effective performance skills. Because there are no tests, no homework and no dress code, the atmosphere is relaxed but students are very focused during instruction.
Jump Start is held Tuesday, Aug. 14 through Thursday, Aug. 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The program fee is $140. Learn more and register
