Strategic Plan 2011-2016 Overview |
|
In the fall of 2010, the Board of Trustees of Malvern Preparatory School appointed a Strategic Planning Committee — composed of current and past board members, alumni, parents, faculty and staff — and retained the services of strategic planning counsel to assist the school in the creation of a five-year plan. The Strategic Planning Steering Committee met on a continual basis over the 2010-2011 school year to develop the school’s strategic vision. The Committee believed it was important to be comprehensive in its process by soliciting feedback from all members of the Malvern community. With that in mind, an online survey was created in December, which was followed by several focus groups and a weekend retreat. The information captured in this process was invaluable to the formation of the plan. We confirmed that the Augustinian mission of our school is essential to its continued success. Additionally, we were able to narrow our focus to the goals stated in the subsequent pages. These goals represent all areas of Malvern Prep and will help the school prepare boys for the demands, challenges and opportunities of an increasingly smaller and more globally-connected world.
Driven by our unique Augustinian, Catholic, Independent identity, Malvern’s 2011-2016 Strategic Vision will enhance the School’s ability to prepare our students to meet and exceed the challenges presented in a changing global society. The Strategic Vision will deepen our ability to provide an all-male education that balances rigorous academics, deep extracurricular commitment, spiritual development, global citizenship, stewardship and Christian service. This robust middle and upper school experience will ensure an increased enrollment of highly qualified candidates. The Strategic Plan also demands that we attract and retain a high caliber and diverse faculty, providing them with professional development opportunities appropriate for global educators. In addition, Malvern’s college and academic counseling program is being transformed to ensure that our students will have the structure and tools to identify and gain admittance to the most selective national colleges and universities. Finally, this Vision, through financial discipline and growth of endowment, will continue to ensure the survival and success of Malvern and promote the School’s unique Augustinian, Catholic, Independent identity within the marketplace. |
