Barbara Oakley PD Day
Join Us as Malvern Prep Welcomes Barbara Oakley, Ph.D.
Malvern Prep is excited to host Barbara Oakley, Ph.D. on Tuesday, January 21, for a full day of Professional Development geared to school faculty and staff. Barbara is an engineer, educator, and the author of several books including, Learning How to Learn, Uncommon Sense Teaching, and Mindshift.
During her sessions, Barbara will discuss the complex relationship between neuroscience and social behavior. She will provide insight into understanding the brain and how we learn, allowing faculty and staff to apply this research not only to the classroom but to any role they may hold within the academic institution. Educators will learn strategies for keeping students motivated and engaged, especially with online learning; helping students remember information long-term, so it isn’t immediately forgotten after a test; and how to teach inclusively in a diverse classroom where students have a wide range of abilities.
