Malvern Preparatory School Names Student Life Center the Davis Center Following $5 Million Gift from Mr. and Mrs. Jim Davis '78

Malvern Preparatory School is proud to announce the naming of its Student Life Center as the Davis Center, in recognition of an extraordinary $5 million gift from Kim and Jim Davis '78. This transformational contribution represents one of the most significant donations in the School's history and will be used to create a dynamic hub that integrates athletics, academics, student services, and community life.

The Davis Center will serve as the cornerstone of the student experience at Malvern Prep, housing state-of-the-art athletic locker rooms, innovative academic spaces dedicated to data analytics, a teaching kitchen for experiential learning, and flexible collaboration areas that foster connection among students, alumni, and the broader Malvern community. This multipurpose facility reflects the School’s commitment to developing well-rounded young men who are prepared to lead with purpose in every dimension of life.

"We are profoundly grateful to Kim and Jim Davis for believing so deeply in our vision and mission," said Dr. Patrick Sillup, Head of School. "The Davis Center will be transformative for our students, providing them with spaces that inspire excellence, foster collaboration, and support their growth as scholars, athletes, and leaders. This gift is not just an investment in facilities—it's an investment in the future of every young man who walks through our doors. The Davis family's generosity will impact generations of Malvern students."

Jim Davis '78, a distinguished alumnus, and his wife, Kim, have been longtime supporters of Malvern Prep. Their commitment to the School reflects their belief in its Augustinian values and its mission to form students who think critically, act compassionately, and lead courageously.

"The Davis Center represents a quantum leap forward for our entire school community," said Mr. Ron Algeo '87, Associate Head of School. "This building will have a profound impact on all students, providing facilities that match the excellence and dedication our young men bring to everything they do. Whether they're preparing for competition, collaborating on a project, or pursuing academic passions, our students will now have a space worthy of their commitment to excellence. This is about more than athletics—it's about creating an environment where every student can thrive."

The Davis Center is expected to open in late summer of 2026 and will immediately become a central gathering place for the Malvern Prep Community. More information, including construction details and timeline, can be viewed here.
