The first event of the season, held at Springside Chestnut Hill, proved one of the most successful performances at a district event in team history for the Malvern Prep Robotics Team. In a field of 26 teams, the team finished qualification matches as the #5 ranked robot overall. The team earned enough District Ranking Points to qualify for the District Championship, which will be held at Lehigh University in April. Their performance at the District Championship will determine whether or not they will qualify for the FIRST World Championship.
Additionally, the team was awarded the Industrial Design Award, which is given to the team that demonstrates industrial design principles, striking a balance between form, function, and aesthetics.
