Full of Holiday Spirit at the Father Duffy Alumni Christmas Party

Stewart Hall was full of Christmas spirit on Thursday, December 14 as Malvern Prep alumni, faculty, and staff came together for the annual Father Duffy Christmas Party. The air was filled with holiday cheer as attendees gathered to celebrate the season.

During the event, Kevin J. Traynor, Jr. ’86 P’14’16’18’21’22 T, recipient of this year’s Alumni Loyalty Award, addressed the crowd. He graciously expressed gratitude to his family, friends, teachers, and mentors of Malvern Prep, reflecting on the meaningful experiences he has had not only from his time as a student but also as an alum and a father. “I never knew the decision my parents made was going to change my life forever,” he said.

Mrs. Mary Fran Frankenheimer P’21, Director of Alumni Relations, shared “Witnessing the joy and camaraderie at the Father Duffy Christmas Party fills me with happiness and pride. The holiday party is a celebration of memories and lasting friendships that make our alumni family so special. It's wonderful to see so many alums come together, reconnect, and create new memories that will surely become cherished traditions."

In the spirit of giving, many attendees contributed to the Alumni Association & Christian Service Learning Program by donating new or gently used coats. These generous donations will benefit the St. Francis Inn, a Catholic Franciscan soup kitchen and social service center serving the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia since 1979. Traynor reflected on the true spirit and core values of Malvern in his speech, “In an Augustinian community…love is at the center and the heart of every act and interaction, and respect for each person, as children of God, is primary. That was and is Malvern today.”
