Congratulations to Matt Mackrides on His New Role with the PLL’s Carolina Chaos!

Malvern Prep proudly congratulates Mr. Matt Mackrides ’08, Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach and Associate Athletic Director, on his appointment as Assistant Coach for the Carolina Chaos. The Chaos is a member of the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL)—the elite professional field lacrosse league featuring eight top-tier teams.

This opportunity will not interfere with Mackrides’ responsibilities at Malvern Prep. "This role will not conflict with the Malvern Lacrosse program," he shares. "The PLL season begins after our high school season concludes, ensuring there’s no overlap with our spring schedule or summer tournament plans."

After careful consideration with his family and Malvern Prep administrators, Mackrides looks forward to the opportunity as a chance for professional growth. “My primary focus will always be Malvern Prep," he emphasizes. "However, coaching in the PLL will allow me to expand my knowledge of the game, bringing fresh insights and strategies back to our program. My goal is to share what I learn with our players, helping them develop at the highest level for years to come.”

Mackrides appointment in this new role does not surprise Mr. Jim Stewart Jr. ’86, Head of Athletics, who shares, “Matt is a valued member of the Malvern Community who was a standout lacrosse player during his time at Malvern Prep, Penn State, and professionally. I am excited for him to grow in his coaching career and share what he learns with our student-athletes.”

Congratulations, Coach Mackrides!
