Malvern Prep Track & Field captured its first Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association (PAISAA) Championship title since 2014, in what proved to be the most competitive final in the event's history. The historic competition was evident as athletes shattered twelve meet records throughout the day.
The Friars overcame formidable opponents, including the Mid-Atlantic Prep League Champions, The Hill School, the Friends League Champions, George School, and most significantly, Episcopal Academy—the three-time defending PAISAA and Inter-Ac outdoor Champions. The team demonstrated exceptional determination and effort throughout the competition.
Leading the Friars was Will Cipollone '25, who earned high-scorer honors with victories in the javelin (159' 8") and shot put (53' 0"), along with a second-place finish in the discus (143' 7"). Freshman standout Brock Yoder '27 dominated the distance events despite challenging windy conditions, winning both the 1600m (4:20.02) and 3200m runs (9:35.88).
Ryan Woerner '26 delivered an upset victory in the long jump (21' 9.25") and secured a hard-fought second place in the triple jump (45' 10.5"). Gunner Benedix '27 achieved a personal best by 24 feet to place second in the javelin (159' 3"), while also finishing fourth in the 110m hurdles (15.36) and sixth in the high jump (5' 10").
Congratulations to Coach Koenig and the entire team on their exceptional 2025 season!
