Wrestling Wins State Championship and Takes 3rd at National Preps

On February 18, Malvern Prep Wresting secured its first-ever wrestling state championship beating out Wyoming Seminary, who had won 15 of the last Pennsylvania Independent Schools Wrestling Tournament (PAISWT) championships.

Additionally, our wrestling program, finished 3rd overall after competing in the 87th National Prep Wrestling Championships last weekend in Upper Marlboro, MD and officially finished the season ranked #5 in the country. Members from Malvern Prep’s wrestling team and the coaching staff were also honored with top awards.

  • Malvern Prep senior Tommy Link was awarded the Ronald K. Nelson Award, which honors the importance of teamwork through wrestling. 
  • Head Varsity Coach Nate Lautar, a Malvern Prep alum from the class of 1998 was named PAISWT Coach of the Year.
  • Assistant Coach, Nate Wachter, was named Assistant Coach of the Year.
