Malvern Prep Community Leaves Their Mark on Student Life Center

Construction officially began this spring on the Student Life Center (SLC), the culminating capital project of Malvern. Forever.: The Campaign for Our Future. As the cornerstone of the school’s long-term vision, the SLC represents both a physical and symbolic investment in the future of Malvern Prep and its students. After completing the foundation earlier this year, construction crews have made significant progress throughout the summer, with steel erection and structural detailing continuing steadily.

On Tuesday, July 15, members of the Malvern Prep community gathered to commemorate the next phase of the project and the signing of one of the final steel beams to be installed in the structure.

Dr. Patrick Sillup, Head of School, addressed the group and shared his appreciation for the collective effort that has brought the SLC to life. “Whether you have been with us for a day or for decades, you are a significant part of this building and the Malvern Prep Community,” he said. Michael Treston ’02, Director of Development, echoed that sentiment, emphasizing the importance of the SLC within the broader context of campus growth. “The Student Life Center is a powerful representation of the transformation we’ve seen here over the past five years,” Treston remarked.

The Student Life Center will integrate athletics, classroom education, and co-curricular programs under one roof. It will offer flexible spaces for student gatherings, team meetings, and academic collaboration, all aimed at supporting the holistic development of Malvern Prep students.
