Malvern Prep Honors Four Seniors Committing to Military Service

The Malvern Prep Community gathered today to proudly recognize four members of the Class of 2025 who have chosen to serve in the United States military upon graduation.

Mrs. Suzanne Sweeney Berlacher, 12th Grade Faculty Academy Leader, addressed the seniors receiving these prestigious appointments, remarking, “Your dedication and perseverance embody some of Malvern’s highest ideals: integrity, responsibility, unity, courage, and a deep love for others and the community. As you follow in the footsteps of our military alumni, know that you carry forward a proud tradition of leadership.”

The student appointments were presented by Mr. Eric Moore, a 2002 graduate of Malvern Prep and a 2006 graduate of the United States Naval Academy. In his remarks, he encouraged and inspired the students as they embark on this noble path, “You will experience tremendous camaraderie, face unique challenges, and be thrust into immediate leadership. People will look to you for direction, and you will be pushed to your limits—always remember the honor and privilege that comes with wearing the uniform and serving your country.”

Malvern Prep proudly congratulates the following young men on their appointments to serve in the United States military:

  • Connor Cross - United States Air Force Academy
  • Luke McGovern - University of Tennessee, Army ROTC
  • Joseph Ponds - Rutgers University, Army ROTC
  • Pieter Schwab - Wake Forest University, Army ROTC

Their commitment reflects the highest values of our School and our nation. We honor their service and offer our deepest gratitude as they prepare to defend and uphold our freedom. May they do so with humility and heart, embodying the true spirit of selfless service.
