Malvern Prep’s Middle School proudly welcomed more than 200 special guests to campus today to celebrate Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day. The event offered a meaningful opportunity for visitors to experience a morning at Malvern Prep and witness firsthand the remarkable achievements of our Middle School students.
The day began with an Adeodatus reflection delivered by Dylan Pellegrini ’29, who shared heartfelt thoughts on the significance of grandparents in our lives. “When I think of grandparents,” Dylan remarked, “the first thing that comes to mind is the unconditional love they show us, whether it's spending time together, offering encouragement, providing wisdom, or something as simple as a hug. Grandparents play an essential role in keeping family traditions alive by connecting the past to the present.”
The morning’s program and presentations highlighted the empowering nature of the Malvern Prep Community, a community rooted in the Augustinian values of Truth, Unity, and Love. These values provide students with a strong foundation not only for academic success but also for personal and moral growth. The extended Malvern Community, including those who joined us today, plays a vital role in supporting our students and Malvern's Mission.
Mr. Patrick Sillup, Head of School, reiterated this sentiment, “Our goal at Malvern is not merely academics. It's about cultivating something deeper: character, purpose, direction. We work hand in hand with families and with all of you to ensure that beyond skills and grades, these young men develop a compass that will guide them for life and a network that will support them anytime and every time they need it.”
Following the presentation in the Chapel, the guests proceeded to Stewart Hall, where they enjoyed breakfast and a lively game of Family Feud. Students then led their grandparents and special friends on guided campus tours, sharing the spaces where they learn, grow, and build the Brotherhood that defines Malvern Prep.
The morning was a success and a joyful celebration of our Middle School students and the cherished guests who support and inspire them. Thank you to all who joined us!
