Malvern Prep's Meal Move Makes Thanksgiving Delivery to Those in Need

Students from Malvern Prep's Meal Move departed Malvern on November 16 to deliver food and blankets to those in need for the holiday season. Meal Move is a Christian Service initiative that works primarily with local food banks, shelters, and restaurants to deliver necessities that have been collected by the Malvern Prep Community.

Under the student leadership of Leonardo Scarpato ’24, Luca Webb ’24, and Peter Hicks ’25, they transported 4,213 non-perishable goods that were collected as part of the 2023 Thanksgiving Food Drive. The Annual Food Drive, which ran from October 16 to November 15, called upon Malvern Prep students, families, faculty, staff, and alumni to make a non-perishable food or monetary donation to support those in need. Congratulations to the 8th grade class who earned an additional Dress Down Day for Hunger in November by collecting the most donations during the Food Drive.

In addition to the food delivery, Meal Move also delivered the Comfy Covers blankets that were created as part of Malvern Prep's Day of Gratitude. Deliveries were successfully made to the Chester County Food Bank, the Coatesville Veterans Shelter, St. Patrick's Parish, and Broad Street Ministry. As St. Augustine teaches us, “God gives where he finds empty hands.” As we enter into the holiday season we must continuously seek opportunities to give to those who need it most.
