Nicky DePolo '26 and Mikey DePolo '27 Finish Second at Districts 10 and 15 Debate Tournament

Malvern Prep students demonstrated their sharp minds and quick thinking at the Districts 10 and 15 Debate Tournament, hosted by the Pennsylvania High School Speech League at Harriton High School on February 19. Two teams represented Malvern Prep, with Nicky DePolo '26 and Mikey DePolo '27 earning a strong second-place finish and securing their spot in the upcoming States Tournament at Bloomsburg University.

The second team of Noah Brand '26 and Chris Guadalupe '26 represented Malvern Prep well during the tournament, engaging thoughtfully and competitively across all of their debates. 

Throughout the tournament, participants tackled a wide range of challenging parliamentary debate topics. Students took on issues ranging from restorative justice and the classification of collegiate athletes as university employees to the dissolution of museum collections, gender-neutral categories in award shows, and the ethics of monetized data collection and privacy.
