Robotics Team has its Best Competition Performance in its 22-year History!

The Malvern Prep Robotics team competed in their first of two district events in the FIRST Robotics Competition this past weekend at Hatboro Horsham High School. The team had the best single-event performance in the school's 22 years of competing.

Highlights from the performance include:

  • Finishing the qualifying rounds ranked 5 out of 33
  • 2nd overall pick in playoff selection
  • Setting the event high score
  • Making it to the finals and finishing as the 2nd overall alliance
  • Winning a judge's award for creativity in their design (Creativity Award sponsored by Rockwell Automation)

The Creativity Award sponsored by Rockwell Automation celebrates the creativity that enhances the strategy of play and was intentionally designed and not discovered. This team's creative approach to controlling their robot was impressive! They rocked and rolled on the field hitting all the right notes with their guitar controller.

The Robotics Team is currently ranked 6th overall in the district of 127 teams.

Next up for the team is the second district event competition at Springside Chestnut Hill on March 16-17. The team feels it is in a very good position to move on to the District Championship at Lehigh University on April 4-6.

Congratulations Team 1168!
