Financial Aid

The ability to provide support in the form of tuition assistance to qualified families is foundational to our mission as a Catholic Augustinian school. Whether you're a returning family or new to financial aid at Malvern, we are here to help. If you would like to discuss your individual circumstances or the process in more detail, please email us at financialaid@malvernprep.org to set up a call.

2026-2027 Financial Aid Application Timeline

New Families

Application Deadlines (New Applicants)

Ninth Grade: December 5, 2025
Middle School: January 27, 2026

New applicants to Malvern Prep who are also interested in financial aid should complete the Clarity application in the same timeframe as their admissions application. Please note these are separate applications, and both are required for new families requesting financial aid.

Financial aid awards are made independent of admission decisions, but the application timelines align to ensure families have the cost information needed to make enrollment choices. Students are only considered for financial aid once they have been admitted.

Apply Through Clarity

Malvern Prep uses the Clarity Application to determine financial eligibility based on a combination of factors, including family income, expenses, assets, and debt.

The application is mobile-friendly and typically takes less than thirty minutes to complete. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time.

At the end of the application, there is a $65 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge. Simply use the dropdown menu in the application to select those schools.

If you need support during the process of completing your application, there is in-app support available through the “Help” button in the bottom left of the screen, as well as email and phone support at support@clarityapp.com or 206-210-3752, in both English and Spanish. The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish.

Principles & Process

How We Define and Evaluate Financial Need

When families complete the Clarity application, the Financial Aid Committee carefully reviews the household’s financial circumstances, including income, assets, household size, and any unavoidable or unusual expenses. We also take into account discretionary lifestyle spending to ensure that aid is directed to families who genuinely need support in order to make a Malvern Prep education possible.

By providing a complete and accurate picture of their financial situation, families help us ensure that awards are made fairly, transparently, and in partnership with our mission to serve students in the spirit of Truth, Unity, and Love. For specific examples of how financial decisions are considered, as well as additional questions, please refer to the FAQ section below.

How Decisions Are Made

Our Financial Aid Committee includes representatives from the Admissions and Business Offices, the Head of School, Chief Financial Officer, and, when appropriate, other stakeholders in a consultative role. Each award is reviewed with great care and guided by our commitment to thoughtful stewardship of resources.

Confidentiality Agreement

Malvern Prep remains deeply committed to providing need-based financial aid through a thoughtful, equitable, and mission-driven process. As part of this partnership, we kindly request that all families maintain confidentiality regarding their award. Discussing financial aid decisions with others can compromise the integrity of the program and place your assistance at risk.

Appeals

We understand that financial circumstances can change and that standard application materials may not always tell the full story. If your family has new or additional information that was not part of your original Clarity application—such as a recent job loss, significant medical expenses, or another unexpected financial challenge—you are welcome to request an appeal for reconsideration.

Appeals must be submitted in writing to financialaid@malvernprep.org. The Financial Aid Committee will carefully review all requests and may reach out for additional documentation if needed. Please note that appeals should be based on material information not previously provided and are dependent on available funding.

On average 35% of Malvern Prep families receive need-based financial aid to attend Malvern Prep.
