In a world of constant technological innovation and advancement, Malvern Prep's Technology Department helps to ensure that learning happens far beyond the classroom walls - even if it is taking place inside them. Through the use of Google Apps and the integration of My Malvern, our students can learn from anywhere, at any time, with any device.

Students, faculty, and staff on campus can stop by the Technology Offices, located on the bottom floor of Tolentine Hall, for help. The staff is available to help parents with any questions they may have as well. Data Center
The server room is a highly secure central facility that houses all of our networking equipment and servers that keeps information flowing smoothly on campus.

Fabrication Lab
The Fabrication Lab in The St. Augustine Center for Social Impact was designed for the entire student body to engineer and 3D print their own designs. The Robotics Team also uses some of this space to build and test their machines.

Virtual Reality Lab
The Virtual Reality Lab on campus is designed to bring immersive educational student experiences to campus. The Virtual Reality Lab has the following tools: HTV Vive Pro, HTV Vive Cosmos, Oculus Quests, Omnidirectional Treadmill, VR Headset Classroom Set.

Esports Lab
With state-of-the-art devices, the Esports Lab features stations for every varsity player to practice with coach supervision and is designed to be powerful enough to stream student competitions on the team's Twitch Channel. All upcoming matches can be found on the athletics calendar.

Friar Tech Internship Program

Malvern Preparatory School students interested in technology will have the chance for hands-on experience maintaining, installing, and repairing laptops and desktops, as well as a wide variety of technology in classrooms and around campus. Students do not need to have any prior experience working with technology and will learn on-the-job from Malvern's on-campus experts. Students are also welcome to learn about larger technology projects on campus during the summer.

Device Programs

Middle School students will all be provided with a school-owned Chromebook during the first week of school. Upper School students, however, will need to provide their own devices. This can be a Windows, Apple, or Chrome device that needs to have a keyboard and mouse or trackpad to best serve students in their courses. These devices cannot be a tablet or mobile device.

Upper School Computer Recommendations

The Technology Department recommends Chromebooks for Upper School students, as they are sturdy devices that are relatively inexpensive. Malvern has had good luck with HP's 14" Chromebook.

Regardless of the exact type of device, students must have the Chrome browser installed to access resources on campus. Students should sign into the browser using their Malvern email addresses.
