Position: Head of Character Development & Wellness
Reports to: Associate Head of School

Job Summary: 
Malvern Preparatory School seeks a highly visible, mission-driven educational leader to serve as Head of Character Development and Wellness. Deeply rooted in our Augustinian Catholic tradition, this senior leadership role is central to fostering a positive, aspirational school culture grounded in accountability, spirituality, wellness, learning, and healthy relationships.

The Head of Character Development and Wellness will help advance Malvern Prep’s mission by supporting the formation of the whole student through a collaborative, distributed leadership model that serves all students in the Middle and Upper Schools.

Reporting to the Associate Head of School, the Head of Character Development and Wellness provides strategic oversight and day-to-day leadership for key student-facing and student-support functions, including:

• Student Academy Leaders
• Director of School Counseling
• School Nurse
• Attendance Coordinator
• Transportation Lead

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree preferred, not required
• Demonstrated commitment to Catholic and Augustinian education
• Proven experience as a leader of adults and students in a school setting
• Strong understanding of adolescent development and student wellness
• Experience with restorative practices and values-based discipline
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills
• Must have experience with Google Suite
• 3+ prior experience as administrative experience  
• Must have current (dated within a year) clearances

Essential Duties:

• Provide leadership that advances Malvern Prep’s Augustinian mission by cultivating a values-driven school climate where accountability, spirituality, wellness, and healthy relationships thrive.
• Serve as a visible and engaged member of the St. Ambrose Team, actively monitoring and addressing matters related to school culture, student behavior, and community norms.
• Promote a culture of belonging and mutual respect across the community.
• Oversee and support comprehensive student wellness systems, including counseling, health services, attendance, and extended care.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, parents, and administrators to support student growth, resilience, and well-being.
• Lead and support the Student Academy Leader team and other direct reports by setting clear vision, strategy, and goals.
• Foster professional growth, collaboration, and shared accountability among team members.
• Guide the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of restorative action plans.
• Ensure behavioral expectations are clearly communicated and consistently applied across the Middle and Upper Schools.
• Balance compassion with accountability while maintaining high expectations for student conduct.
• Builds and maintains a professional rapport with a broad audience – alumni, students, parents, all other staff, and external contacts

Position: Upper School Engagement Specialist
Reports to: Head of Inclusivity and Belonging 

Job Summary:
The Upper School Engagement Specialist applies professional knowledge to support comprehensive Upper School programs that align with Malvern Prep's mission and values. Oversees community time programming, lunch supervision, and after-school care to ensure student safety, engagement, and positive development. Works closely with the entire Inclusivity and Belonging department to create cohesive and engaging student experiences. This is a highly student-focused and present position, requiring daily interaction with students and active visibility throughout campus. Works collaboratively with administrative and academic departments across the school to deliver programs that complement, engage, and enrich the students' academic and spiritual experience. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, not required
• Demonstrated ability to advocate for students from a broad range of backgrounds
• Demonstrated ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and other community members.
• Must be highly organized, task-oriented, and a self-starter
• Must be able to work in a highly collaborative, agile, fast-paced environment
• Must have experience with Google Suite 
• Must have current (dated within a year) clearances

Essential Duties:

• Coordinates and oversees community time activities that foster student engagement, school spirit, and positive social interactions
• Works with moderators and program leaders to develop programming that supports student engagement during community time
• Coordinates community time supervision in the areas of CSI, Caritas Court, Quad, Turf, and O'Neill
• Collaborates with SALs for any student discipline-related issues
• Works closely with the Student Idea Center, Micro-courses program, and student activities moderators to ensure seamless integration of programming
• Maintains high visibility and active presence with students throughout the day, serving as an accessible resource and support for student needs and class coverage for absent teachers
• Serves as a point of contact for students and families needing support due to various special circumstances, in collaboration with other departments
• Hires, manages, and coordinates lunch proctors to ensure safe, orderly, and positive lunch periods
• Trains and schedules proctors to create a welcoming environment during lunch
• Oversees and coordinates staff for the after-school care program, ensuring student safety and supervision

Position:  Assistant Rowing Coach
Reports to: Head Coach and Athletic Director
Department: Athletics
Status: Immediate Opening
Location: Various

Job Summary: The assistant rowing coach will be responsible for working with our novice program and work in conjunction with the head coach for other designations as needed.

Lastly, and perhaps most important, it is essential that the assistant rowing coach believes in the idea that we put team goals before our own, where we are “One Team All In.”

Qualifications:

• Some Coaching / Rowing Experience Preferred
• Available in the afternoons from 3pm-6:30pm, Monday to Friday
• Available for regattas on the weekends
• Current (dated within a year) clearances

Essential Duties:

• Reports to practice on time
• Sets a positive example for our younger rowers
• Teaches our younger rowers the basics of safety and success on the water

Position: Malvern Swim School Instructor
Reports to: Swim School Director
Department:
Status: Part Time

Job Summary:
We are seeking a swim instructor who enjoys working with children. Potential candidates must be prepared to learn and instruct children in the pool as directed by the swim school director using a learn-to-swim framework designed to advance children through the swimming process. Applicants should be comfortable handling and working with children ages 3- 12. Applicants are expected to be consistently available at least two days a week, Tuesday - Friday weekdays from 9:00 - 2:00 and Saturdays from 10:30-2:30 September through May. Additionally, they should be available for at least 1 summer session in early June from 9:00 - 2:30 Monday-Thursday. Most importantly, this individual must be available, reliable and punctual as scheduled.

Qualifications:  
● New instructors are encouraged to apply; 1-5 years working with children (preferred)
● Swim Instructor and/ or Coaching experience (preferred)
● CPR, lifeguard or Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification (preferred)
● Ability to have current (dated within a year) clearances (required)

Essential Duties:
● Learn and follow the learn to swim process as directed by the Swim School Director
● Be attentive to students at all times and promote a safe learning experience
● Keeps students actively engaged in learning
● Displays the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards, acting as a role model
● Builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation with students and colleagues

Competencies Required:
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
● Able to instruct in the water for 4-5 cumulative 30-minute sessions
● Able to lift and safely manipulate children in the water
● Energetic, friendly disposition and safety conscience
