Malvern Preparatory School, an independent, Augustinian school for young men in grades six through 12, is seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to serve as their next Chief Financial Officer.

Founded in 1842, Malvern Prep’s innovative approach to teaching and learning engages and inspires today’s young men to become tomorrow’s leaders. Reporting to the Head of School, the CFO provides leadership, oversight, and stewardship for all aspects of Malvern’s financial resources while ensuring absolute institutional integrity on fiscal matters and promoting best practices in finance and administration.  As a strategic leader, the CFO attends Board meetings as necessary to serve as the institution’s chief fiscal and fiduciary officer and to issue Board financial and management statements and reports. The CFO acts as a liaison to the Board and external stakeholders; provides strategic leadership and advice; and is responsible for financial strategy decisions that align with the mission and vision of the school. The CFO oversees accounting, finance and budget, and works with the Head of School and Executive Director to oversee risk management. The CFO is also responsible for ancillary and support services including property management and outsourced services such as dining. The CFO has seven direct reports and indirectly oversees the work of approximately 19 staff members. The CFO reports directly to Patrick Sillup, Head of School, and partners with both Core and Cabinet teams in planning and development to ensure that approved strategic initiatives are appropriately funded. The CFO serves as the staff liaison on several Board committees, including Finance, Investment, Campus Master Planning, and others as prescribed by the Head of School.

The new CFO will be committed to the Augustinian mission and vision of Malvern Prep and thrive in a close-knit student focused community. A master’s degree in business administration, finance or related field is preferred with 10 or more years of directly related experience required. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to affect and influence change through a collaborative and inclusive leadership style; excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills; and experience serving as a key strategic and business partner to senior leadership. An understanding of an independent school environment is preferred, but not required.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, and the position must be performed on site, in Pennsylvania. Malvern offers a generous benefits package as well, including tuition remission for up to two children.

Position:  Assistant Rowing Coach
Reports to: Head Coach and Athletic Director
Department: Athletics

Job Summary: The assistant rowing coach will be responsible for working with our novice program and work in conjunction with the head coach for other designations as needed.

Lastly, and perhaps most important, it is essential that the assistant rowing coach believes in the idea that we put team goals before our own, where we are “One Team All In.”

Qualifications:

• Some Coaching / Rowing Experience Preferred
• Available in the afternoons from 3pm-6:30pm, Monday to Friday
• Available for regattas on the weekends
• Current (dated within a year) clearances

Essential Duties:

• Reports to practice on time
• Sets a positive example for our younger rowers
• Teaches our younger rowers the basics of safety and success on the water

Competencies Required:

Position: Malvern Swim School Instructor
Reports to: Swim School Director
Department:
Status: Part Time

Job Summary:
We are seeking a swim instructor who enjoys working with children. Potential candidates must be prepared to learn and instruct children in the pool as directed by the swim school director using a learn-to-swim framework designed to advance children through the swimming process. Applicants should be comfortable handling and working with children ages 3- 12. Applicants are expected to be consistently available at least two days a week, Tuesday - Friday weekdays from 9:00 - 2:00 and Saturdays from 10:30-2:30 September through May. Additionally, they should be available for at least 1 summer session in early June from 9:00 - 2:30 Monday-Thursday. Most importantly, this individual must be available, reliable and punctual as scheduled.

Qualifications:  
● New instructors are encouraged to apply; 1-5 years working with children (preferred)
● Swim Instructor and/ or Coaching experience (preferred)
● CPR, lifeguard or Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification (preferred)
● Ability to have current (dated within a year) clearances (required)

Essential Duties:
● Learn and follow the learn to swim process as directed by the Swim School Director
● Be attentive to students at all times and promote a safe learning experience
● Keeps students actively engaged in learning
● Displays the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards, acting as a role model
● Builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation with students and colleagues

Competencies Required:
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
● Able to instruct in the water for 4-5 cumulative 30-minute sessions
● Able to lift and safely manipulate children in the water
● Energetic, friendly disposition and safety conscience

Job Summary: The Middle School Swimming will be responsible for continued development of scholar athletes in the swimming & diving program, under the direction of the head upper school varsity coach.  The MS Swimming Coach will work under the guidance of the upper school head coach, with primary focus on skill development, team building and educating our young men about our swimming & diving culture.

Lastly, and perhaps most important, it is essential that the MS Swimming & Diving Coach believes in the idea that we put team goals before our own, where we are “One Team All In.”

Qualifications:

• Some coaching and organized scholastic/club experience preferred
• Available 4 days per week, Monday through Thursday from 3:15pm-5:30pm - times vary on the days of home and away meets
• Current (dated within a year) clearances

• Teaches the skills and fundamentals consistent with the varsity upper school program

Job Summary: The Freshmen Soccer Coach will be responsible for continued  development of scholar athletes in the soccer program under the direction of  the head varsity coach. 

Qualifications: 

• Coaching background required for this age group (14-15 years old)
• Available 4-5 days per week - afternoons 3 p.m. Monday to Friday. 
• Current (dated within a year) clearances. Forms will be provided.

• Sets a positive example for our Upper School soccer players 
• Teaches the skills and fundamentals consistent with the Varsity program

Position: Van Driver
Reports to: Associate Athletic Director

Job Summary:
We are currently in need of a Van Driver for the 2023-2024 school year to help with athletics transportation from 3pm-7:30pm. Most days will consist of a drop off and pick up for our rowers at Conshohocken Rowing Center (Fall M,T,TR,F / Spring T,W,TR,F)

Daily Rate: $60.00

Qualifications:
● Must have valid driver's license
● Must have a safe driving record
● Must maintain a professional rapport with a broad audience—students, parents, and all
staff
● A personable, friendly, and outgoing personality
● Current (dated within a year) clearances

Essential Duties:
● Drive safely along designated routes.
● Obey traffic laws, safety procedures, and transit regulations.
● Pick up and drop off students at designated locations
● Communicate with students and the Associate Athletic Director regarding delays or any
issues along a route.

Competencies Required:
● Very reliable in working without close supervision
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
