Upper School Spanish

Reports to: Upper School Faculty Academy Leader

Status: Long-Term Substitute (remainder of 2023-24 school year)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an Upper School Spanish teacher that has both the depth and breadth of content expertise to team with our World Language Department, specifically the ability to teach Spanish 2 and Spanish 3. Applicants should have experience with student-centered educational practices, and a broad array of assessment strategies. Applicants are expected to be proficient with various forms of communication and instructional technology. Applicants will also be encouraged to be involved with co-curricular activities and/or mentoring students. In addition, we are seeking applicants with experience in service-oriented, project-based learning. A teacher within this role would be expected to design and implement learning experiences that are multidimensional, collaborative, and differentiated.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Spanish discipline (required)
- Fluent in the Spanish language
- Master's Degree or Education Degree (preferred)
- Current (dated within a year) clearances (required)
Essential Duties:
- Creates and implements highly innovative, well-prepared lesson plans for a balanced program of instruction, application and class work activities within the Spanish curriculum for all assigned classes
- Communicates student progress and class objectives to parents on a regular basis
- Keeps students actively engaged in learning by regularly utilizing student-centered learning methods
- Designs, adapts, and delivers instruction to address each student’s diverse learning strengths and needs and creates opportunities for students to demonstrate their learning in different ways
- Displays the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards, acting as a role model
- Builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation with students and colleagues
- Works cooperatively, respectfully, and professionally within the faculty member’s Academy Team, Curricular Team, and all other areas of the school

Middle School Counselor - Short Term Substitute

Job Summary: The Middle School Counselor works as part of a team to provide a variety of counseling related services to Middle School students and their families. The ideal candidate should be able to live the school mission, be willing to fully participate in the life of our school community, and be able to apply professional knowledge to execute a comprehensive school counseling program in support of Malvern Prep’s ambitious aspirations. It is essential that the candidate believes in the idea that we put team goals before our own, where we are “one team all in.”
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree (required) in School Counseling or an other Mental Health related field
- 1-5 years of counseling experience (preferred)
- Current (dated within a year) clearances (required)
Essential Duties:
- Executes a comprehensive counseling program that meets student needs; develops activities and resources to implement and evaluate the program; collaborates with staff in making decisions about the programs.
- Helps all students, individually or in groups, develop skills in the areas of personal/social growth, educational planning, and career development; implements follow-up actions as required.
- Work in conjunction with our Learning Specialist to optimize a student’s educational plan.
- Consults and collaborates with parents, teachers, administrators, student support services and community resources regarding student planning and/or to address students with identified concerns and needs.
- Accurately and appropriately uses assessments and interprets and utilizes data for structuring individual and group counseling services, educational placement, and to assist with student planning; assists teachers, parents, and other stakeholders in interpreting and understanding student data.
- Maintains knowledge of the athletic, instructional and extracurricular programs of the school and utilizes this information in working with staff, students, parents, and others to enable students to obtain maximum benefit from their school experience.
- Teaches assigned portions of the counseling curriculum.
- Monitors student academic performance, behavior, and attendance and facilitates appropriate interventions
- Displays the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards, acting as a role model.
- Keeps up-to-date with innovative developments and trends in the field of school counseling.
- Actively participates in various meetings, such as department, administration, school meetings, etc.
- Builds and maintains a professional rapport with a broad audience – students, parents and all other staff.

Dining Hall Staff (Part Time)

Job Summary: The Dining Hall Staff member produces fresh and delicious food while providing excellent customer
service and a clean, welcoming environment to our students, faculty/staff, and guests. This individual will work with
Chefs to ensure quality preparation of all menu items and storage of all food items. In addition, he/she will be
responsible for maintaining cleanliness and maintenance standards in and around the Dining Hall. Lastly, and perhaps
most importantly, it is essential that the Dining Hall Prep Cook believes in the idea that we put team goals before our
own, where we are “one team all in.”
Qualifications:
- Previous Kitchen and Food Preparation experience is required.
- Ability to perform duties of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, including ability to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds.

Essential Duties:
- Assist with the preparation of Food Items for the Dining Hall and Café while following recipe for correct procedures and portion sizes.
- Serve customers in Dining Hall. Assist with delivery of Catering functions on campus.
- Handles, stores, dates, and rotates all inventory properly.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines consistently.
- Assist in the Maintenance and Cleanliness of the Student Dining Hall.
- Cleans and Sanitizes work stations, equipment, utensils, and food contact surfaces as needed.
- Ability to work in concessions, catering, and special events as needed (optional overtime).
Competencies Required:
- Great Customer Service and Communication Skills.
- Able to work independently and effectively with other team members.
- Ability to read and write at a high school level.
- Must possess driver’s license.

Malvern Swim School Instructor

Job Summary:
We are seeking a swim instructor that enjoys working with children. Potential candidates must be prepared to
learn and instruct children in the pool as directed by the swim school director using a learn to swim framework
designed to advance children through the swimming process. Applicants should be comfortable handling and
working with children ages 3- 12. Applicants are expected to be consistently available at least two days a
week, Tuesday - Friday weekdays from 9:00 - 2:00 and Saturdays from 10:30 - 2:30 September through May.
Additionally, they should be available for at least 1 summer session in early June from 9:00 - 2:30 Monday -
Thursday. Most importantly, this individual must be available, reliable and punctual as scheduled.
Qualifications:
● New instructors are encouraged to apply; 1-5 years working with children (preferred)
● Swim Instructor and/ or Coaching experience (preferred)
● CPR, lifeguard or Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification (preferred)
● Ability to have current (dated within a year) clearances (required)
Essential Duties:
● Learn and follow the learn to swim process as directed by the Swim School Director
● Be attentive to students at all times and promote a safe learning experience
● Keeps students actively engaged in learning
