Position:  Assistant Rowing Coach
Reports to: Head Coach and Athletic Director
Department: Athletics
Status: Immediate Opening
Location: Various

Job Summary: The assistant rowing coach will be responsible for working with our novice program and work in conjunction with the head coach for other designations as needed.

Lastly, and perhaps most important, it is essential that the assistant rowing coach believes in the idea that we put team goals before our own, where we are “One Team All In.”

Qualifications:

• Some Coaching / Rowing Experience Preferred
• Available in the afternoons from 3pm-6:30pm, Monday to Friday
• Available for regattas on the weekends
• Current (dated within a year) clearances

Essential Duties:

• Reports to practice on time
• Sets a positive example for our younger rowers
• Teaches our younger rowers the basics of safety and success on the water

Competencies Required:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and effectively with other team members.
• Good team player and very reliable in working without close supervision.
• Passionate about actively supporting the School’s mission.

Position: Malvern Swim School Instructor
Reports to: Swim School Director
Department:
Status: Part Time

Job Summary:
We are seeking a swim instructor who enjoys working with children. Potential candidates must be prepared to learn and instruct children in the pool as directed by the swim school director using a learn-to-swim framework designed to advance children through the swimming process. Applicants should be comfortable handling and working with children ages 3- 12. Applicants are expected to be consistently available at least two days a week, Tuesday - Friday weekdays from 9:00 - 2:00 and Saturdays from 10:30-2:30 September through May. Additionally, they should be available for at least 1 summer session in early June from 9:00 - 2:30 Monday-Thursday. Most importantly, this individual must be available, reliable and punctual as scheduled.

Qualifications:  
● New instructors are encouraged to apply; 1-5 years working with children (preferred)
● Swim Instructor and/ or Coaching experience (preferred)
● CPR, lifeguard or Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification (preferred)
● Ability to have current (dated within a year) clearances (required)

Essential Duties:
● Learn and follow the learn to swim process as directed by the Swim School Director
● Be attentive to students at all times and promote a safe learning experience
● Keeps students actively engaged in learning
● Displays the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards, acting as a role model
● Builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation with students and colleagues

Competencies Required:
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
● Able to instruct in the water for 4-5 cumulative 30-minute sessions
● Able to lift and safely manipulate children in the water
● Energetic, friendly disposition and safety conscience

Job Summary:

The Assistant Varsity Water Polo Coach will be responsible for the continued development of scholar athletes in the Water Polo program under the direction of the Varsity Head Coach.  The Assistant Varsity Water Polo Coach will work under the guidance of the head coach, with primary focus on skill development, team building, and educating our young men about our Water Polo culture.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, it is essential that the Upper School Water Polo Assistant Coach believes in the idea that we put team goals before our own, where we are “One Team All In.”

Qualifications:

• 3-5 year playing or coaching experience preferred
• Available 5 days per week, Monday through Friday from 3:15 pm-6:00 pm - times vary on the days of home and away matches; Some Saturdays
• Current (dated within a year) clearances

Essential Duties:

• Reports to practice on time
• Sets a positive example for our upper school students
• Teaches the skills and fundamentals consistent with the varsity upper school program

Competencies Required:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and effectively with other team members.
• Good team player and very reliable in working without close supervision.
• Passionate about actively supporting the School’s mission.

Job Summary: The Head Varsity Squash Coach will be responsible for the continued development of scholar-athletes in the squash program.  The Head Varsity Squash Coach will work under the guidance of the head of athletics and associate athletic director, with primary focus on skill development, team building, and educating our young men about our squash culture.  The Head Varsity Squash Coach will oversee the Middle School and Upper School programs in terms of scheduling, communication, and player development.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, it is essential that the Head Varsity Squash Coach believes in the idea that we put team goals before our own, where we are “One Team All In.”
