The family of Malvern alumnus, parent, grandparent, and Trustee Emeriti Robert Quigley '45 P'72'74'77'80 GP'03'11'12'13'14'17 TE was presented with a resolution in his honor during Mass on Wednesday, April 24. A resolution is a written statement voted on by the Board of Trustees in honor of an individual's work and dedication to the school. It is the highest honor that can be given at the school.

On Wednesday, April 3, 2019, the Most Rev. Timothy C. Senior, V.G., M.B.A., M.S.W., M.A., M.DIV., Rector and Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia, visited Malvern Prep to celebrate Mass and meet with students. This visit was rescheduled from Catholic Schools Week in January due to inclement weather.
During Spring Break, 12 8th grade students, along with chaperones Rob Buscaglia P'22'24, 8th Grade Academy Leader, and Metty Vithayathil, Middle School teacher, had the opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic for a 7-day service trip.

On Thursday, March 14, 32 students and three chaperones from St. Rita's High School, an Augustinian school in Chicago, IL stopped by Malvern Prep for a visit. The trip was arranged by Malvern alumnus Andrew DiMarco '09.

Phil Gosselin '07 is in the midst of spring training with the Philadelphia Phillies as he strives for a spot on the team that ignited his love of baseball. Students and chaperones from Project Beisbol in Colombia stopped by Malvern Prep this week for a visit. The visit was arranged by Justin Halladay '95, founder of Project Beisbol, and Teresa Lohse, Malvern's Global Exchange Director, and was the follow-up to an exchange last year where a group of Malvern students traveled to Colombia.

The 6-foot sophomore guard, a first team All-Inter-Ac selection this season, averaged 16 ppg, 5 apg and 4 rpg for the Friars. In the PAISAA tournament, he averaged 23 points, four assists and six rebounds per game as the Friars advanced to the quarterfinals. Read more from Main Line Media News.
A little bit of winter weather couldn't stop the Malvern community from coming together to save lives at the annual Red Cross Blood Drive. In total, Malvern Prep donated 40 usable pints of blood, which means that up to 120 local lives may have been saved!
For Dan McGlinn '14, this is no fad workout craze or newly discovered pastime. Not when he's been playing since sixth grade and is now working his first job out of college. The Speech & Debate team of juniors Kyle Faggioli, Charlie Fish, and Pat Murphy are headed to the States Tournament in mid-March at Bloomsburg University. The team finished 3-0 in the District Tournament on Wednesday, February 13.
Congratulations to juniors Tommy Bevevino, Charlie Fish, and Pat Murphy on the first-place finish at the Rustin Debate Tournament on Thursday, January 31. The team also had a perfect 3-0 record during the tournament.
Deuce Turner '20 and Rahdir Hicks '21 were both honored during the Hoop Group Showcase Tournament on Sunday, January 24. Turner was named MVP and Hicks was named to the 1st Team. The Friars beat Parkland 81-67. Congratulations!
Mr. Patrick Sillup, Assistant Head of School for Academics, was recently quoted in The Inquirer's article about J-Term - "J-Term courses on dogs, card tricks, murals, and more give students a break from studying, tests, stress." Malvern Prep's second J-Term (January Term) took place January 7-11, 2019. Students returned from Christmas break and had the opportunity to experience a variety of J-Term courses including Crime Scene Investigation, Photography, Comics, Mosaics, Stage Design, Knitting, Cooking, and even a course on What Every Young Man Should Know. The purpose of J-Term was to provide students with experiences beyond traditional disciplines. It was also an opportunity to look at co-teaching and how it impacts the overall learning experience for students.
On Saturday, January 5, alumni gathered on campus in support of the Jimmy Klinges '13 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament. The event raised $660 for the James Klinges (JRK) Foundation and a $10,000 donation was made to CHOP from the foundation in support of pediatric leukemia programs.

The Friars, who finished second last year at 8-2 and 18-8 overall, are looking strong this season. First-time junior guard Deuce Turner is the school's fifth highest scorer. Turner is joined by sophomore Rahdir Hicks, junior Spencer Cochran, sophomore Fran Oschell, and multi-sport standout senior Tygee Leach in the starting lineup.
