Leadership

A Leadership Team in an Augustinian School engages in a process of collaboration and collegiality in matters pertaining to the school community. The assumption is that each member of the team has a valued perspective and is genuinely invested in the endeavor which maximizes the efforts of others - faculty, staff, and students, toward the achievement of a greater good, namely, the education of the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Leadership involves establishing a clear vision, sharing that vision with others and providing the information, knowledge, and methods to realize that vision.

  • Rev. Donald F. Reilly, O.S.A., Head of School

    Rev. Donald F. Reilly, O.S.A. began his term as Head of School at Malvern Preparatory School on July 1, 2017. Prior to his role at Malvern Prep Father was President of St. Augustine Preparatory School. He served as the Prior Provincial of the Province of St. Thomas of Villanova from June 2002 to June 2010 and has an extensive background in education, theological studies and Institutional Advancement.

  • Mr. Ronald A. Algeo '87 P'15, Assistant Head of School for Student Leadership

    Mr. Algeo ensures a positive and fulfilling student experience outside the classroom. He oversees and works collaboratively with Athletics, Discipline, School Counseling, Student Life, and Summer and Orientation Programs to ensure student engagement, social development, and overall leadership growth for each of our students.
  • Mr. Theodore N. Caniglia, Jr. P'03, Director of Financial Affairs

    Mr. Caniglia ensures the fiscal health and physical well being of our School by serving as the chief financial and facilities officer. He oversees the operations of our Business Office, Maintenance Department, Dining Hall, Bookstore, Security and Malvern Swimming Association programs.
  • Rev. Christopher J. Drennen, O.S.A. '73, Director of Mission and Ministry

    Fr. Drennen oversees the spiritual development of our students, faculty, staff, and parents. He manages Campus Ministry, Christian Service, and the Theology Curriculum to ensure a consistent and fully integrated approach to our Catholic, Augustinian teachings and our Christian Service learning programs.
  • Mr. Jim Friend, Executive Director of Advancement

    Jim is responsible for designing an integrated marketing, admissions and fundraising plan that aligns with Malvern's mission, vision and strategic plan. He works closely with the Director of Admissions, the Director of Development, and the Director of Marketing and Communications to achieve enrollment and fundraising goals, while maintaining and establishing Malvern's brand identity.
  • Mrs. Neha P. Morrison P'24, Director of Human Relations

    Mrs. Morrison guides the management of the overall Human Resources policies and programs for our entire community. She is responsible for providing, with the support of appropriate colleagues and external experts, the successful delivery of HR services, while also monitoring the effectiveness of Malvern's inclusive culture, diversity and engagement programs.
  • Mr. G. Patrick Sillup, Assistant Head of School for Academics

    Leading the academy model approach to academics, Mr. Sillup ensures the continued evolution of our team-based, innovative, student-centered learning program. He works closely with the Academy Leaders, the Dean of Faculty Coaching and Development, the Curriculum Coordinators, the Technology Department, and the College Guidance Office to provide an engaging and experiential learning experience for each of our students.

    Mr. McGlinn is a Founding Partner of Archbrook Capital Management LLC, an investment firm based in West Conshohocken, PA.  Archbrook holds investments in several small-to-mid-sized companies and Mr. McGlinn serves as a board member on most of those investments.  Primary responsibilities include Tray-Pak Corporation, Reading, PA; Argus Staffing in Denver, CO; and Alexin LLC in Bluffton, IN.  Mr. McGlinn received an MBA from the University of North Carolina and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.

    John and his wife, Melissa, have served as members of the Advisory Board for the Alliance for Catholic Education at the University of Notre Dame since 2012.  Their three sons have attended Malvern (Dan ’14; Tait ‘16; Johnny ’18) and have been active members of the student community.  Their daughter Kelly enjoys cooking, baking and tennis and wishes Malvern Prep could go co-ed in time for her high school experience.  The McGlinns are active members of St. Norbert’s Parish in Paoli, PA enjoy traveling together and spending time at their lake home.

    Mr. Joseph H. Davis is the Global Chief Economist & Head of Investment Strategy Group for Vanguard. His previous roles with Vanguard include: Principal, Chief Economist and Investment Analyst. Prior to working at Vanguard, Mr. Davis was an Economist with Moody's Economy.com. Mr. Davis' area of expertise includes: macroeconomics, asset allocation strategies, fixed income strategies, portfolio management, financial simulation, alternative investments, asset-class modeling, public speaking, and economic history.

    Mr. Davis also volunteers with the United Way, serving as a fundraiser and participating in the Day of Caring activities. He also serves on the Investment Committee for the Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania's pension and endowment. He resides in Malvern with his wife and two children.

    Mr. Joseph L. Carlini is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of McKean Defense, an engineering and technology solutions firm that provides life cycle engineering, sustainment, and modernization support and information technology/enterprise transformation services to the U.S. Navy and other federal customers. Prior to his current position, Mr. Carlini was a Group Senior Vice President for Science Application International Corporation (SAIC), managing the $1 billion Naval Engineering and Technology Solutions Group.

    Mr. Carlini is on the Board of Directors of CDI Corporation, the Philadelphia Police Foundation, and the Philadelphia Police Athletic League. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for Catholic University of America and is a member of the American Society of Naval Engineers, and the Surface Navy Association. He currently resides in Malvern with his wife and their four children.

    Mrs. Moira Murphy, Esq. is currently self-employed as a legacy coach, partnering with individuals and families as they seek to align their living and giving with their values, passions, and dreams for a better world. Previously she served as the Stewardship Development Coordinator at St. Norbert's Parish (Paoli, Pa.), where she continues to volunteer in a variety of roles. She is the retired General Counsel, Mid-Atlantic Region of Mellon Financial Corporation, where she worked for 18 years as a consumer banking attorney.

    Mrs. Murphy resides in Malvern with her husband and enjoys visits from her two sons.
  • Mr. Michael J. Purcell P’04, Treasurer

    Mike Purcell has more than 36 years of professional experience (all with Deloitte) providing assurance and advisory services to public and private enterprise clients, including family-owned businesses and large, multi-national companies. He has an extensive background serving technology, financial services life sciences, consumer products and manufacturing companies, with deep experience in financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions, capital sourcing and due diligence. Mr. Purcell served as the Philadelphia office leader of Deloitte's middle-market and growth enterprise services. He has assisted many emerging companies over the years including successful initial public offerings and exit transactions.

    Mr. Purcell has served on the Boards of Directors of the Pennsylvania Alliance for Capital and Technologies (PACT), Entrepreneurs' Forum of Philadelphia, The Haverford School, Malvern Preparatory School, Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, the American Heart Association (President) and Main Line Jaycees (President). He was the Chairman of the Impact Venture Summit in 2006 and 2014. He has also served in advisory roles for Lehigh University and Drexel University. He has additional experience working with development committees for the Philadelphia Zoo, the YMCA and the Boy Scouts of America.

    Mr. Purcell is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a former President of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). He attended the Drexel University Directors Academy in 2016. Mr. Purcell has a BS in Accounting from Lehigh University and an MBA in Finance from Drexel University.

    She has two decades of experience as a talent management professional – both as a management consultant and leader of recruiting and professional development teams. Previously, she led talent acquisition for Accenture’s Management Consulting business globally as well as the Northeast Office of McKinsey & Company, where she launched her management consulting career. A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Lehigh University, Mrs. Cherian earned a MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, where she was one of 12 Leadership Fellows.

    Mrs. Cherian served on the Academic Innovation Sub-Committee for Malvern Preparatory School, while also sitting on the Board of Trustees at Waldron Mercy Academy. She also serves on the advisory boards of both Catie’s Wish Foundation and Compass Philadelphia, whose mission is to inspire the active engagement of business professionals with their local non-profits to transform communities. Mrs. Cherian lives in Ardmore with her husband and their two children.

    Mr. Stephen Cloetingh has more than 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur in the wireless business. He is currently an independent consultant and independent investor.

    Mr. Cloetingh also serves as a trustee at Gettysburg College ('81), as a member of the Performing Arts Council at the University of Notre Dame and also serves as a civilian Advisor/Board Member for JDog LLJ, a military-only franchisor.

    Mr. Cloetingh's sons, Andrew '10 and Kevin '13, both attended Malvern Prep. He and his wife Carolyn reside in Malvern.

    Mr. Louis B. Colameco III is the President and CEO of Wellshire Family of All Natural Products, one of the largest all natural meat processing companies in North America. In 2010, Mr. Colameco was named Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce’s Business person of the Year and in he was honored by Malvern Preparatory School in 2007 and 2011 for the Alumni Loyalty Award and St. Augustine Alumni Award, respectively.

    Mr. Colameco spends his time serving on many academic and charitable advisory boards. He serves as Chairman of the Board for Goodwill Industries of Southern N.J. and Philadelphia, and has founded many academic scholarships including: The Wellshire/Colameco Family Scholarship at Malvern Prep, The Wellshire/Colameco Family Scholarship at St. Edmund’s Academy, The Barbara A. Colameco Scholarship at Gloucester County, N.J. 4H. The Barbara A. Colameco Cancer Transportation Fund has helped countless people on their “Ride to Remission”.

Mr. DiSipio is a Trial Lawyer, representing corporations, insurers, nonprofit organizations and religious organizations for more than 35 years. Prior to private practice, he served as law clerk to the Honorable Michael J. Eagan, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

    Mr. DiSipio is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations, the Trial Attorneys of America, Defense Research Institute, Pennsylvania Defense Institute, the Federation of Insurance and Corporate Counsel and the International Association of Defense Counsel. He has held many leadership roles, including: Merion Mercy Academy, St. Denis School and Villanova University.     Rev. Peter Donohue serves as the President of Villanova University, located in Radnor, Pa. Father Donohue has a rich background in education and theatre and served as the University’s Chair of the Theatre Department from 1992 to 2006. He annually directed musical theatre productions on campus, earning six Barrymore Award nominations and one Barrymore Award for Outstanding Direction of a Musical from the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia.

    Father Donohue serves on the Board of Trustees for Villanova University, Merrimack College, Malvern Preparatory School, St. Augustine Preparatory School, the Greater Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Catholic College and Universities and the Association of Independent College and Universities in Pennsylvania.     Mr. David Frank is the Managing Director for Marsh’s Mid-Atlantic Region. He manages a new business budget for Marsh’s Mid-Atlantic Region of $30 million. Mr. Frank is responsible for ensuring the appropriate Marsh resources, services and solutions are identified and deployed to both clients and prospects. He has been with Marsh since 1997. Prior to his current role at Marsh, Mr. Frank was responsible for the development and execution of Marsh’s growth strategy (2007-2011) and leading the Marsh office in San Diego, Ca. (2004-2006).
     
    Mr. Frank was the Malvern Prep Alumni Board President from 2012-2015, serves on the board for the Philadelphia Chapter of The National Association of Corporate Directors and sits on the Board of Governors at St. Joseph’s University Academy of Risk Management and Insurance. He resides in East Goshen with his wife and three children.
  • Louis Giangiulio, M.D. '86 P'21

    Dr. Giangiulio is the primary doctor and founder of Sugartown Pediatrics. He is credentialed at Main Line Health and attends to newborns at Paoli, Bryn Mawr, and Lankenau Hospitals. He is also on staff at Women's Lifecycle Care Birthing Center (Bryn Mawr), is the school physician at The Phelps School (Malvern), and serves as a medical consultant for the Penn-Delco School District and the wrestling program at Malvern Preparatory School.

    Dr. Giangiulio served as an Army pediatrician for six years, including a nine month tour in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He completed his undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University, received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, and completed his residency in Pediatrics in the U.S. Army at Walter Reed AMC in Washington, D.C. and Bethesda Naval Medical Center.

    Dr. Giangiulio serves on the Main Line Health nursery committe and is a member of the board at the Mason Shaffer Foundation.

    Senior Associate Athletics for Student-Athlete Welfare

    Rev. Rob Hagan serves as the Senior Associate Athletics for Student-Athlete Welfare at Villanova University. As part of this role, Father Rob oversees the areas of Sports Medicine and Strength and Conditioning, as well as the administrator for the golf program, and serving as the chaplain for the Villanova men's basketball and football teams. Prior to his current role at Villanova, Father Rob was the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance.

    Father Rob graduated from Villanova with a Bachelors of Arts in 1987. He earned a J.D. from Widener University School of Law in 1990 and spent seven years as an attorney with Gillin and Associates, where he also served as Criminal Defense Counsel. He also served as assistant counsel to the Solicitor for the Delaware County Solid Waste Authority and the Delaware County Register of Wills.

    Father Rob entered the Order of St. Augustine in 1997. He served as Chaplain at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia and at the University of Maryland, College Park, and received a Masters in Theology from the Washington Theological Union in 2003. He is a past member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Delaware County Bar Association, and the Delaware County Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys.

    Rev. Gary N. McCloskey, O.S.A. is Executive Director of the Federation of Augustinians of North America (FANA) where his role focuses on developing collaborative initiatives across North American Augustinian provinces to foster deeper Augustinian presence and St. Augustine of Hippo’s spirituality on our continent.
     
    In educational arenas, Fr. McCloskey has garnered recognition as an international leader in Augustinian Pedagogy and Catholic Social Teaching. He has earned national recognition for work on Instructional Technology, Geriatric Care and Diversity. Fr. McCloskey’s focus on person-centered learning has led to his creating innovative programming, collaborative initiatives and partnership structures.
  • Mr. Joseph J. McLaughlin, Jr. P’12’14’18

    Mr. Joseph McLaughlin is the Chairman and CEO of Haverford Trust Company. He has been with the company since 2002 and worked in the investment industry since 1984. Previously, he was Vice President of J.P. Morgan and Company and a Certified Public Accountant/Manager at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co.

    He serves on Haverford Trust’s Board of Directors, is a member of the Executive Committee and a voting member of the Investment Selection Committee. He also serves as the Vice Chairman on the Board of Trustees for the Paoli Memorial Hospital Foundation, sits on the Board of Trustees at St. Joseph’s University, is Chairman of the Philadelphia Chapter of WPO and sits on the Board of Advisors, Nerney Leadership Institute at Cabrini College.
  • Mr. Stephen G. Meyer P’17

    Steve Meyer is the Head of SEI’s Investment Manager Services division, which is dedicated to providing comprehensive operational outsourcing solutions to traditional asset managers as well as hedge, private equity, venture capital, and separate account managers worldwide. In this role, Steve is responsible for driving the unit’s global strategy of providing front-, middle- and back-office solutions to the array of products and strategies investment managers may offer. Steve is part of SEI’s executive committee.

    Prior to taking on this position, Steve was the Managing Director of SEI – Global Fund Services Limited. In this role, which he had held since 1996, he was responsible for SEI's global and alternative investment administration and shareholder servicing activities. Previous SEI experience included acting as the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for SEI's fund services business. He was also instrumental in establishing SEI’s Dublin office as the company’s European fund servicing center.

    Qualified as a CPA, Steve also worked for the Vanguard Group and Coopers and Lybrand. He graduated with a degree in accounting and finance from La Salle University.

    Mrs. Katherine (Kathy) Oates is the Head of Global Talent & Leadership Development for GlaxoSmithKline R&D and acting Head of Global Talent for GSK. She is responsible for improving the quality, depth and breadth of talent across the organization. Prior to her current role, Mrs. Oates spent 15 years in the US commercial organization, most recently as the Vice President of the US Pharmaceuticals Transformation Office.

    Prior to working at GlaxoSmithKline, Mrs. Oates was a consulting manager for Accenture. She resides in Downingtown with her husband and 2 children.

    Rev. Donald Reilly, O.S.A. was appointed as President of St. Augustine Preparatory School on July 1, 2011. Prior to that appointment he served as the Prior Provincial of the Province of St. Thomas of Villanova from June 2002 to June 2010. He has an extensive background in education, theological studies and Institutional Advancement.

    He has provided board leadership to Malvern Prep, Villanova University and Merrimack College. Currently he is serving on the boards of the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools and Malvern Prep. Fr. Reilly has served on the Member's Corporation and as Chair of the Prep’s Board of Directors for eight years. He is a co-founder of Siloam Ministries in Philadelphia and has been involved in numerous international projects focused on support for the Augustinian ministries. He has been recognized for his work including the Faithful Servant Award from St. Patrick’s College, the Urban Angel Award from the New York Theological Seminary and an honorary doctorate in Augustinian Education from Merrimack College.
  • Sister Stephen Anne Roderiguez, IHM, Ed.D.

    Sister Stephen Anne Roderiguez is the principal at St. Aloysius Academy in Bryn Mawr, Pa. This past April 2018, Sister was elected to serve on her IHM Congregation’s Leadership Council. She has spent nearly 20 years teaching elementary school for the dioceses of Philadelphia, Metuchen and Camden, NJ., Allentown, PA., and Raleigh, NC. Prior to her role at St. Aloysius, Sister Stephen Anne was the Assistant Principal of Villa Maria Academy for Girls. She has also served as principal at: Immaculate Heart Catholic Elementary (Girardville, PA), St. Martin of Tours Catholic Elementary School (Philadelphia), and Queen of Heaven School (Cherry Hill, NJ).

    Sister Stephen Anne holds memberships in a number of professional organizations to keep current in the educational field. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Gesu School in Philadelphia and for the past five years she has been involved in planning for the Liguori Academy, an urban Catholic high school for at-risk students in Philadelphia. Sister Stephen Anne also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees at Immaculata University and St. Francis de Sales School in Philadelphia. She recently received the Lead.Learn.Proclaim Award from the National Catholic Education Association, and she was recognized as Educator of the Year by St. Martin of Tours.

    Matthew A. Taylor is Vice Chairman of the Firm and Chairman of Duane Morris' Trial Practice Group. The Trial Practice Group consists of nearly 350 attorneys in 22 offices. Mr. Taylor also serves on the firm's Executive Committee.

    Mr. Taylor practices in the area of commercial litigation, handling matters in state and federal courts across the United States. Mr. Taylor also represents corporate boards and individual corporate officers and directors in internal and government investigations and related proceedings. He is an active trial lawyer dealing with matters in banking and securities law, RICO, corporate governance, commercial real estate, computer software and hardware, product liability (with a concentration in medical devices), and corporate directors and officers liability and indemnification. Mr. Taylor handles a wide range of employment matters involving noncompete, trade secrets and business related torts. Mr. Taylor represents medical device manufacturers nationally in product liability matters and in connection with commercial disputes between the manufacturer and its distributors.

    Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New York, Mr. Taylor is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, is a member of the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia bar associations, the International Association of Defense Counsel and the Drug and Medical Device Committee of the Defense Research Institute. He is listed in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business in general commercial litigation. He has authored and co-authored four publications since 2008 and was the host of the Global Arbitration Seminar and a presenter at Philadelphia Bar Association's Federal Branch Bar Conference in 2012.

    Mr. Taylor sits on the boards of the following organizations: BLOCS - Business Leaders Organized for Catholic Schools, Malvern Preparatory School and Covenant House Pennsylvania.

    Mr. Taylor is a 1989 graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center and a graduate of Boston College.

    Mr. Kevin Traynor is a Principal and Founder of Eagle Advisors, LLC.  Eagle Advisors specializes on opportunistic real estate acquisitions, developments, and operations for our investment partners and to provide management expertise to companies and/or investors requiring management, operations, development and/or construction expertise. Prior to establishing Eagle Advisors, Mr. Traynor was a Principal and Partner of a Philadelphia-based full service real estate investment firm that acquired, developed and managed over 12 million square feet of commercial and industrial real estateand founding Partner of a one of the top Hydraulic Fracturing Proppant companies in the country providing proppants to the fracking industry.

    In addition to sitting on the Board of Trustees at Malvern Prep, Mr. Traynor serves as President of his family foundation, the Kevin Traynor, Sr. Foundation. He resides in Downingtown with his wife and five sons.
