The CSItizen Speaker Series and Malvern Prep Welcome Dr. Matt Wintersteen for an Important Conversation about Mental Health

About the Speaker
Dr. Matthew Wintersteen is an Assistant Professor and Director of Research in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Thomas Jefferson University/Jefferson Medical College. He previously served at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) as coordinator and co-investigator for a large randomized clinical trial of suicidal youth recruited from the primary care system funded by the CDC. He was awarded a pilot grant from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and developed a standardized screening protocol for suicidal youth at CHOP.

Dr. Matt Wintersteen has established himself as a leader in the field of childhood and adolescent psychiatry in the Philadelphia area. He has collaborated with schools and primary care providers since 2016 in an effort to equip individuals with the tools and skills necessary to support young people in distress. His presence for this special event will allow our student facilitators to surface stories and strategies that can help us all think about suicide risk and management.
